 Carl Larsson - A Day of Celebration (c.1895)This watercolor painting shows the Larsson children at 5 a.m., all dressed to celebrate maid Emma on her name day, July 23. Farmhouse Maid Room was decorated by Karin Larsson and you can see some of the many fabrics she designed for the family home here. The ceiling is hung with a cloth with red stripes and embroidered images of birds. The red tassels are inspired by folk costume decorations.
